Frequently asked questions:
How long is a counselling session?
Each session is 1 hour.
How much are the counselling sessions?
The cost for a counselling session is $160.
Where are sessions held?
I see clients in person in Castle Hill, and welcome women from across the Hills District and Sydney. Online sessions are also available via Zoom for clients Australia-wide.
Do I need a referral?
No referrals needed. Everybody is welcome.
Do you offer Medicare or insurance rebates?
I don’t offer rebates with Medicare or Private Insurance but my lower fees allow access to ongoing support and clients are not limited to 10 sessions. It also means that there won’t be a record with your insurance and in the My Health Record system.
How long will it take to get an appointment?
Usually I am able to offer you an appointment within a week.
How do I know if you are the right counsellor for me?
The best way to find out is to organise an obligation-free Zoom chat with me. It’s a short, relaxed call where we can go through any questions you have and I get a sense if I feel I’m able to help you. After the call you are welcome to book a session or not, no questions asked.
Research backs up my experience that the connection between us matters more than any techniques or the approach - so I always encourage clients only to book in if it feels right for them.
If you feel ready, I’d love to hear from you. Reach out and we can arrange a time for your free chat.
What happens in the first session?
We'll talk a bit more about your individual situation, what’s going on for you and what you’re hoping to get from our work together — at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
It's a conversation, not an assessment, so there's nothing to prepare and no pressure to have it all figured out. By the end, you'll have a clearer sense of how we might work together, and if you’d like to continue, we’ll talk through where to go from here.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. Everything you share with me is confidential. The only exceptions are situations where I'm legally or professionally bound to act — for example, if there's a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, if a child’s safety is a concern, or if I’m legally required to disclose information (for example, by a court). These situations are rare, and before your first session, I'll send you a confidentiality agreement outlining exactly how this works.
